Is Klyrn a free SSH client for Windows?
Yes. Klyrn 1.0 is free to download and use offline. SSH, dual-pane SFTP Files, tunnels, and the local vault do not require an account. An optional account exists only for encrypted host sync between PCs.
Does Klyrn replace PuTTY, WinSCP, or Termius?
Klyrn is a modern Windows SSH workspace: terminal, dual-pane Files, and tunnels in one window. It is a strong PuTTY, WinSCP, and Termius alternative for daily Linux servers. It is not a serial-console replacement for every PuTTY niche, and it does not try to clone every MobaXterm tool.
Do I need an account to use SSH?
No. Connect with user@host or a saved host. Host keys use trust-on-first-use; a changed key blocks the session until you replace it on purpose.
Does Klyrn include an SFTP client?
Yes. Files is a dual-pane SFTP manager (This PC ↔ remote) that runs beside the terminal so transfers do not freeze the shell.
What Windows versions are supported?
64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. The installer is self-contained and includes the required .NET and Windows App SDK files. WebView2 is used when present on supported Windows releases.
Where are SSH passwords and keys stored?
In a local AES-256-GCM vault. The master key lives in the Windows credential store, not as plaintext in SQLite. Optional cloud sync stores ciphertext only.
How do I download Klyrn?
Open the download page and get the Windows x64 installer (recommended) or the portable build. Verify the SHA-256 shown next to the file before you run it.
Does Klyrn support SSH tunnels on Windows?
Yes. Local, remote, and dynamic (SOCKS) forwards live in the same workspace as the terminal. See SSH tunnels for Windows.
Is Klyrn open source?
Klyrn 1.0 is a commercial-grade Windows product distributed as a free installer. The website and cloud sync API are first-party. We do not claim an open-source license for the desktop app.
Will Windows SmartScreen warn me?
Until a verified publisher certificate is attached, Windows may show an unknown-publisher prompt. That is Microsoft reputation, not a malware detection. Check the SHA-256 on the download page.
