A FlashFXP alternative that keeps the SSH session open
FlashFXP is the old Windows habit for fast dual-pane transfers. Klyrn is for the same motion over SFTP, with the shell still on screen. Hosts and secrets stay in the vault on this PC.
| Klyrn | FlashFXP | |
|---|---|---|
| Dual-pane transfers | This PC next to remote SFTP | Core product |
| SSH terminal | First-class VT in the same window | Not the main workflow |
| Protocol focus | SSH and SFTP in 1.0 | FTP, FTPS, SFTP |
| Classic FTP UI | Not in 1.0 | Deep FTP tooling |
| Price | Free on this PC | Licensed |
Keep FlashFXP if you still live in raw FTP sites and transfer queues built around that protocol. Use Klyrn when the box is SSH and the job is edit, copy, stay in tmux.
Same installer as the SFTP client and the Terminus alternative. Details on WinSCP if that is the other file tool on the machine.
Can Klyrn replace FlashFXP for SFTP?
For copies between This PC and a server over SSH/SFTP, yes. Files is dual-pane and uses the same hosts as the terminal. Klyrn 1.0 does not ship a separate classic FTP command UI.
Is Files a separate download?
No. Dual-pane SFTP is in the same Klyrn 1.0 Windows installer as SSH.
